Ceres seed Classic Blueberry & Barneys Farm Amnesia Lemon Haze
7/29/09 - two of each push up through hydrocorn, two blueberry in one five gallon plastic paint bucket and two lemon haze in the other. High tech grow w/ cheap everyday products except seed, hydrocorn, plastic baskets, nutrients, sodium light. Quick cycling these and try to get another quick grow in with a different blueberry and maybe a lemon skunk? Ah, so much weed so little time ...
people.tribe.net/bearsky/p...f28a67a2a6
Barneys Farm LSD & Skunk #1 cured and in jars now - separated into two LSD's of the "indica" phenotype - the "norm" for this strain and a LSD of a sativa pheno and the Skunk #1. The sativa phenotype of the LSD is a little headier than the indica pheno. The indica pheno is really heavy to me and not so trippy as advertised although a little. The sativa pheno perhaps more so. I would say that this LSD strain should be harvested fairly early to promote this trippiness.

Re: new plants, new grow
Thu, August 13, 2009 - 4:23 PMonly two remain - fortunately one blueberry and one lemon haze, the blueberry being twice the size of the lemon haze. I'll hit the lights in a couple days on the two and move the other two basket over to a aeroponic system under my fluorescent. Each plant will have a 5 gallon Deep Water Hydroponic tub so they can grow a huge root system. I already hit them with bacteria and micro-organism inoculants. They burned a little with silica imbalance but should be okay. I was away for three days and dosed them up to 700 ppm soon as I got back with ionic grow. They should have good woody stems, LOL - the leaf looks in places like it's growing bark on it. The main stem and branches will be very strong having no problem holding the enormous buds they will eventually form. I'll hit it once again with the silica Florilicious nutrient in a couple weeks and then only the Florilicious afterwards up until about three weeks before harvest. I've learned they need little of the silica.
My experiment with this flushing agent was not great - I think that a long distilled water flush with multiple water changes starting maybe two weeks before harvest is best. I'll try using the flushing agent as an adjunct with regular flushes, hopefully this will make the regular flushes more thorough and also quicker. Usually I let them sit about 24 hours after each flush B4 adding nutrients back but with this flushing agent should be able to just change out water and add new nutrient level right back to wherever it was, you know. We'll see. Gotta be good for something dammit.
I think the long distilled water flush with only a bud enhancer like sweet is the way to go for both flavor, smell and potency. The long starvation forces the plant to draw suger into the buds which is why they get bigger even though there is not nutrients in the water. The fan leaf really start to show the wear toward the last week, the trichomes steady turning amber until the plant practically screams: "take me dammit I'm ready"
And you never do hear that enough -

Thu, August 20, 2009 - 8:08 PMone blueberry and one lemon haze two days into flowering sharing a 5 gallon plastic bucket
3 more of each in aeroponic grow box I'm going to try and grow these next batch in - have them under a fluorescent move them to flowering chamber in about 15 days - in about 6 weeks it's gonna smell awfully good around here!

Thu, August 20, 2009 - 8:28 PMoutside girls in 30 gallon container

also outdoor girls (both lemon haze) and indoor lemon haze are starting flowering at almost the exact same times so makes for a great comparison
i'll be comparing too the 5 gallon DWH plants with the aeroponic plant - it's a cheap system with only sprayers but I added a fogger (i have a dedicated tooth bruth and toothpaste - perfect way to clean those things)

Re: new plants, new grow
Wed, September 2, 2009 - 2:38 PMwhen i saw the outdoor girls start to bud, hit the lights on the indoor girls
natural darkness through Sept and into Oct vs. 600wt sodium light inside 12 hours dark (outdoors the dark will continue into increase but indoors will stay at 12 hours until last three days before harvest i'll put them on blackout)
the race is on - i got to be the only geek in the world watching!! LOL
i'm curious how they will do ? -

outdoor girls with shot glass
indoor girls with shot glass

(running 600 wt sodium hard to get the red out of the color of the light - great for budding thought!) -

they are going: Boom! Pow!

Re: new plants, new grow
Thu, October 8, 2009 - 8:00 AMday 54 flowering
indoor girls getting humongous under the sodium light
blueberry not much smell yet but amnesia lemon haze smells lemony a little like lemon dish soap maybe?
Outdoors girls which started budding right about the same time i started budding indoor girls are much lighter, stringy very sativa like and as i suspected, even though the outdoor girls grew much longer before budding, the indoor girls will probably outproduce them by weight of dried bud - only grew indoors girls for 19 days from seed before hitting lights and they are both less than 20 inches high while outdoor girls are over three feet tall!
My advice about soil growing: DON'T.
Also, can't recommend House and Gardens bud enhancer called BudXL enough. Also, it appears to have no effect on the soil girls even though I've been hitting them hard with it - taking a lot more for them by the way then the hydro girls and i'm not seeing much effect. In the hydro system the BudXL sure appears to perform as advertised in spades man - shots the nutrients right into the bud
also the soil has knats too late in the game for them to be much trouble but i've never ever over many years had any bud problems with my hydro set up -

Re: new plants, new grow
Fri, October 9, 2009 - 5:21 PMtrichomes getting very milky and amber on blueberry, probably be ready in just a few days which would be about eight weeks and the lemon haze is about a week behind, it appears
the outdoor girls are way behind that may have to go to 14 hours light on them so i can get things packed up by end of month - i sure hope soil grown weed is better somehow than hydro because so far as yield and speed go, soil growing is left in the dirt
keep everything separate and conduct a test being the only tester. also, the indoor girls under sodium are glistening with crystals and they smell better so far but the outdoor girls are a little behind and both these strains don't seem to smell a lot right untl the very end

Re: new plants, new grow
Sat, October 10, 2009 - 7:50 AMexactly week eight will be harvesting the Classic Blueberry tomorrow - little dissapointed in that it is bot blue, a little blue in the pistals? Has a slight blueberry smell that i'm sure will increase with proper curing.
I'm flushing it now with a clearing solution and I'll give it distilled water after that and harvest tomorrow most likley maybe the next day? I'm experimenting with this flushing agent to see if I can use it to replace a long two week plus distilled water flush that have always used - so far not too sure about it, didn't work as well as I want at last harvest but using it more aggressively this harvest.
After I harvest them I'll snip the few fan leaves and put the whole thing in the refrigerator for 24 hours see if that brings out some blue
the amnesia lemon haze is abotu 5 to 7 days behind smelling wonderfully lemony now
