A while back, I messaged Rich asking him if he's actively moderating this tribe, but haven't back heard from him.

I've looked on his profile page, and it seems like he hasn't even been on Tribe.net for a while.

Any thoughts on having a new moderator?

so many tribes like that like vacant ships floating aimlessly at sea inhabited only by ... ghosts

anyone but me, seriously, i already have three tribes

u know who would be a fun moderator would be that asshole guy with the avatar of a cop that used to be around? Can you imagine?

or maybe Barack Obama - hell he used to all about supporting marijuana decriminalization but now ... O he's too busy with a noble peach price and running as commander in chief two wars of aggression wherein our presence is seen as an occupier of foreign soil. I mean shit if he can pull that off, he can certainly take a few minutes a day to moderate this tribe, don't ye think?

That cop dude would ruin it for me. Let's vote for a new moderator. If the current moderator speaks up and says no then that's that. If he doesnt then we have the right to vote for someone new. I vote for James. Yaaaaaaaaaay!!! Go James! Go go go!! BAM!!!

thanks James i know it takes some of your time

it would be good to goose this tribe into some action somehow?

i sure would like to hear from some more medical marijuana growers - I imagine illegal growers don't want to post about their grows which i understand - if I were growing illegally i wouldn't tell anyone at all and I certainly wouldn't post anything about it on the internet

Discussion is an overall positive thing. Mostly because it's contagious.

I'm sure if one or two individuals posted their experiences with growing, etc., others would feel more free to follow suit. Some folks would rather join a discussion rather than starting one from scratch, I can dig it. Even if it's something they feel very passionate about.

Of course, during harvest, or whatever, time can be hard to find - but yes I agree: I would love to hear from those who grow (specifically medical), either now or did so in the past.

Most growers I know would never speak about it at all. Total silence. They won't talk on the phone about it or anything. One friend & I talk about it on the phone all the time. We can't be the only ones. My Mom thinks if you cuss on the phone too much Homeland Secure Shitty is gonna come and take you away. So paranoid. We don't talk much anymore. It's actually one of those she hung up on me AGAIN and I will never call her again unless she calls me first deals. She's been hanging up on me my whole life. If she wants a fucking son she's got my number.

I don't blame them. I was paranoid too when I grew years ago, it comes with the territory. But I gotta believe that some realize - as I have - that disclosing information online lends itself a wee bit more anonymity then in-person or over the telephone, so it's not completely inconveivable to me that we could start hearing from some very, very interesting growers out there (perhaps disguised as a sock/troll? At the very least that should make for some lively interchanges with The Man!)

Well there is the whole IP address thing. The gubment can track anyone now. It doesnt matter if it's an alt or not. An alt would only inhibit "do gooder" narcs.

Oh there are sites like anonyouse.com, and anonymizer.net that can hide your ip address.

You can even stack them and use multiple anonymized browsers. Additionally you can even use an "invisible" ip address that you can get free from sites like stayinvisible.com

I'm like captain Kirk. I always believe there is a solution. ALWAYS. The gubment is cordially invited to munch on my choad.

On the other hand (and ultimately). I can understand the need for caution. When one is growing, one can never be paranoid enough. NEVER.

Very soon Mr. M, very soon (I may even post pictures of the fucking thing!)

I'm still busy being blow away that I can just walk into a goddamn dispensary and look at their menu.

It hasn't sunk in yet that after all of these years doing it in the shadows of the Man, and feeling like a pariah - I finally do have safe access. It probably will be for quite some time.

It's just so weird not having the stigma of being a pot smoker hanging over me as much as before, and it's equally weird being able to relax a little bit about law enforcement. I have to tell myself that I'm a patient now, not just a user.

*pinches self* life can be a bit weird sometimes man...especially when you get what you want! wow

well the government could bust that easy if they want thing is that there truly are millions of "us" out here and the government really can't arrest all of us, simple as that.
If you want to be safe, never speak about something illegal going on right now or that you are going to do in the future, only speak about such things in past tense. Anyway, this is what a lawyer said after saying don't say anything on line is the best bet!

in most areas even illegal pot is not a priority now since the police are overwhelmed with meth and at least they have enough sense to realize how much worse meth is than pot

What all police agencies are doing now is looking at these social sites when they have a suspect - that has become common practice. It makes a lot of sense for them because if they're going to bust some egghead for meth tomorrow, good to look at the guys facebook page because often they have pictures of themselves with weapons as well as just pictures of their living space which is immensely useful to the police, not to mention a ready list of associates that must make police just cream their pants, man

Also, some tribe buddies told me - and from what I understand from the mod requirements that I read myself - that I could send a link to this very thread to help@tribe.net, & that should be a good enough proof of a concensus to satisfy the requirement for me to be the new moderator.

I mean even though it's two votes, it's still a concensus of active posters, so it should (I hope) work!
